Obituary of Mary Douglas Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Douglas, 93, of Titusville, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Wesbury United Methodist Community in Meadville. Mary was born on January 30, 1925 at Hillsdale, PA, a daughter of the late Bird and Mary Etta Nicholson Dishong. She was married to Harry C. Douglas on January 1, 1948 at the Hillsdale Wesleyan Methodist Church.

He preceded her in death on December 6, 1999. Prior to moving to Titusville in 1955, she had been employed at the Barnsboro Shirt Factory in Barnsboro, PA. Mary was a member of the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church.

She enjoyed baking, reading and housekeeping. She is survived by a son, Chalmers H. Douglas and wife Janice of Titusville; a granddaughter, Amie Sue Douglas Beard and husband C.William of Titusville; a great granddaughter, LaKynzee Beard; two sisters, Catherine Carpenter of Overland Park, KS and Pauline Dishong of Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Alma Dishong of Newton Falls, OH and Jean Dishong of Hillsdale, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel R. Douglas; brothers, Lemmon, Amos, and Herman Dishong; sisters, Marie Baker, Izora Mackanos, Jennie Degenkolb, Ada Chess, Edith Decker, and twin sisters in infancy.

Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, PA on Friday from 6 to 8 PM. Further visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 to 11 AM at the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Robert Luther and Rev.

Scott Bennett officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery. The family asks that memorials be made to the Wesleyan Methodist Church 102 E. Spruce Street Titusville, PA 16354.
