Matthew’s Obituary Matthew Douglas Strange, “Big Matt”, 72, of Wichita Falls, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls with Mr. Shaun Campbell, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.

Matthew was born on December 4, 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Emil Loest, Jr. and Margaret Ann Strange. He attended Archer City High School and Portland State College. Matthew loved traveling and living all over the world during his life, always having a story to tell, being free and being his own man.

Eventually Matthew returned to Wichita County to start his ranch where he grew Coastal Bermuda hay while raising cattle and show horses. An accomplished musician, he loved to play music, and enjoyed watching high school football, was a Dallas Cowboys fan, enjoyed fishing, but most of all, Matthew loved to talk about his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Shannon Miles, Matthew Douglas Strange, II, and Belinda Strange; his grandchildren, Isabel Miles, Katie Strange, Mikaela D. Strange, Madeline D. Strange, and Matthew D. Strange, III; and his sister, Teresa Goldberg; and his friend and mother to his children, Jacquelynn Strange.
