Poland – Matthew E. Hymes, 84, died early Friday morning, December 22, 2018 at Hospice of the Valley’s Hospice House surrounded by family. Matthew was born on March 16, 1934 in Belington, WV, a son of Sherman and Lena (Arbogast) Hymes. Raised in West Virginia, he wed the former Anna Nadine Golden on August 27, 1952.

Shortly after their marriage, they relocated to Ohio for Matt’s work, living the last 37 years in Poland. Mr. Hymes worked as an assistant roller for LTV Steel, retiring in 1984 after 35 years of service. An outdoorsman, Matt enjoyed deer hunting in West Virginia and fishing over the years.

He is survived by his wife, Nadine, of Poland; his son, Greg (Lisa) Hymes of Struthers; his daughter, Beverly (David) Armahizer of Hopewell, PA; four grandchildren, Greg (Kristen) Hymes of Poland, Scott (Jenn) Hymes of New Alexandria, PA, Travis Armahizer of Columbus, and Kelsey Armahizer of Coraopolis, PA; four great grandchildren, Lauren, Gregory, Matthew, and Colin Hymes; and his sister, Mary of Delaware. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by ten siblings. There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman. Please visit www.
