Ms. Mattie Lee Newman, 91, of Garner passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11:00 am at West & Dunn Funeral Home , Benson. Officiating the service will be Rev.

Walter Gaskins. Interment will follow in the Four Oaks City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

Survivors of Ms. Newman include daughters, Bonnie Benton of Zebulon; Saundra Dixon of Raleigh; sons, Mike Newman and wife Judy of Cary; Jimmy Newman and wife Gayle of Benson; sister, Imojean and husband Dennis Johnson of Four Oaks; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Ms. Newman is preceded in death by husband, James Herman Newman Sr., parents, Joseph Bain Parker Sr., and Mattie Parker Condolences may be made at www.
