At the age of 99 years and 364 days, Maxine Bone Jamison left this world March 4, 2019 for new adventures. She had always told everyone she didn’t want to live to be 100 years old and she got her wish. Maxine was born March 5, 1919, in the old Bone family home on Main Street in Kaysville, the first of eight children born to Edwin (Ted) Bone and Vivian Bacon Bone.
She attended Kaysville Elementary and graduated from Davis High School in the class of 1937. After graduation she became a telephone operator in the Kaysville office. While she was on vacation in California with a friend, she met a man who would become her husband.
On September 12, 1943 she married Edward Jamison. The two of them lived in Kaysville for a time then moved to Clearfield where she spent the next 62 years. She had six children and always told them how proud she was of each of them.
She loved being a mom and taking care of her family. She also liked to garden, read and sew. After she retired as a school cook, she kept busy by joining several clubs where she socialized and had fun with friends.
She became a doll collector. She also made quilts for all her children and grandchildren and most of her great grandchildren. She was known to the neighborhood children as the lollypop lady.
Edward passed away in 1995. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When she was in her 90’s she decided to give up her home and move to Apple Tree Assisted Living where she resided until her death.
We want to thank all of the Apple Tree staff for the kindness shown to Maxine, especially Stacy, Frankie and Nicole. Maxine always loved parties and was able to celebrate her 100th birthday at a party with many guests on Saturday, March 2nd. She loved to see all the people there and everyone was able to talk to her and wish her a happy birthday.
She is survived by her children Pat [Hal] Hallett Layton, Ed [Jan] Jamison Las Vegas, Steve [Alta] Jamison Clearfield, Ted [Julie] Jamison Clinton, Linda [Brad] Barker West Jordan, and Kevin [Leslie] Jamison Boise. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, a granddaughter Tasha Jamison and a great grandson Devereaux Hallett. We would like to thank the hospice staff for everything they did for her, especially Diane, her hospice nurse.
We’d also like to thank the hospice people who saw her every day. She loved the visits with you. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 8, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No.
Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Friday from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
