EVAN PETER LYMAN 1930 – 2019 Our beloved father and friend passed away peacefully in his sleep on 25 Feb 2019 at the home of his son, John, where he had been cared for during the past two years. The days before his passing, he had family at his side and enjoyed the visits of many children and grandchildren. Evan was born to Thomas Callister Lyman and Florence Vern Nielson in Oak City, Utah on February 8th, 1930.

He grew up enjoying the desert and mountains that surrounded Oak City. He is remembered as hiking Fools Creek Peak barefoot at a young age. His family moved to Sunset when he was 11, and he attended Davis High School.

Evan married Mary Ethel Morrison in 1952 and had four children that they raised in Clearfield, UT. In 1983, he married Pamela Elizabeth Hobbs and lived in Roy, UT. He served as a missionary to the Southern States Mission.

Evan is a veteran of the Korean War. He received an accounting degree from Georgia State and worked as an accountant, loan officer, realtor, general plant manager and tax consultant. His life centered around his family, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and camping.

Youth and scouting was a main focus and passion. He helped many young men and women including his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren learn wilderness skills and a love and respect for the great outdoors. Much of his fishing time was spent fixing the tangles of fishing line for his grandkids while they used his pole to catch dinner.
