Maxine D. Boehman, 84, of St. Meinrad, passed away on March 6th at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. Maxine was born March 8, 1934 in Adyeville to Preston and Lostie (Dotterweich) Van Winkle. She married Charles Boehman on December 27, 1952 in St. Meinrad Archabbey Church.

He preceded her in death on August 7, 2002. Maxine was a member of St. Meinrad Catholic Church. She was a 1952 graduate of Bristow High School.

Maxine enjoyed gardening, flowers and music. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Maxine is survived by 3 sons, Gene (Mary Jane) Boehman of Ferdinand, Gerald “Jerry” (Mary) Boehman and Rick (Vicki) Boehman all of Jasper; three daughters, Cheryl Phillips and Mary Ann (Ron) Meyer all of St. Meinrad, Maxine (Tony) Friedel of Bristow; one brother, Harold Van Winkle of Ferdinand; three sisters, Faye Hagedorn of Santa Claus, Wanda Flamion of Carmel and Alice Woebkenberg of Evansville; seventeen grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; brothers, Jim and John Van Winkle and a sister Lois Ann Van Winkle. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM CST Monday in St. Meinrad Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-7:00 PM CST at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and also on Monday from 7-9:30 AM CST at the funeral home.
