Melissa Jean Slemp January 02, 1964 – May 22, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Melissa Jean Hensley Slemp, 55, Butler, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at her residence. A native of Washington County, she had lived in Butler for several years. She was a 1982 graduate of David Crockett High School.

She was a retired plant worker at Park Dale Mills, Butler. Melissa was preceded in death by her father: Billy Joe Hensley. Survivors include her husband: Michael Vernon Slemp.

Two Sons: Jesse L. Slemp, and Dalton J. Slemp & wife Ehlana all of Butler. Two Granddaughters: Aya & Kairi Rayne Slemp. Her Mother: Della Hilton Hensley.

Two Sisters: Angela Coffey and Debbie Freeman & Husband Terry. Her Mother-In-Law: Kathryn Slemp, Butler. Sister-in-Law: Lori Potter & husband Mike, Watauga.

Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor John Hammitt officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 1 p.m. Saturday May 25, 2019 in Butler Memorial Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12 noon Saturday will be: Michael Slemp, Dalton Slemp, Jesse Slemp, Ronnie Dunn, Jack Roberts and Cameron Hopson. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Brandon Hensley, Aaron Hensley, April Jones Charles Proffitt, Matt Stout, Randy “Duffy” Duffield, Eddie Whitaker, Matthew Potter and Edmond Manuel. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel.

Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12 noon Saturday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www. memorialfcelizabethton.com.
