OBITUARY MELVIN E FRERKING April 15, 1926 – September 13, 2018 Melvin Ernest Frerking, age 92, passed away early morning on September 13, 2018 at Freesburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL. Melvin was a native of St. Clair County; born April 15, 1926 to George & Katherine Frerking. He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952.

Melvin was a long time member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, IL. Preceding Melvin in death are his wife Inez Frerking, daughter Janet Frerking, parents George & Katherine Frerking, & siblings Arnold, George Jr, Allen, Flora Dickhart, Viola Meier, & Catherine Schliechter. Survivng family members include an abundance of nieces & nephews as well as great nieces & nephews.

Melvin’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Family Hospice of Belleville and Freeburg Care Center for their kindness shown with his care. Memorials may be directed to St. John’s UCC in Mascoutah or Family Hospice. Visitation for Melvin will be Sunday September 16, 2018 Lake View Funeral Home from 1-3pm.

Funeral service will begin at 3pm.
