Melvin L. Colcord, age 78, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. He was born in Red Field, SD on March 31, 1940, the son of Earl and Francis (Boullion) Colcord. He married Saundra K. Dewey in Conde, SD on November 18, 1961.

Melvin was a member of UAW Local 95 and retired from General Motors in 1988. Melvin is survived by his wife, Saundra; 4 children: Paula K. (Doug) Totten of Woodlawn, IL, Cheryl L. (Greg) Phillips of Janesville, Victor E. (Jill) Colcord of Janesville, and Vincent A. (Shannon) Colcord of Janesville; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Norman E. (Mary) Colcord; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Arlan J. Colcord and Delores Sumner; and half siblings, Roy Lutabar and Vi Lutabar.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018, at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Friday from 12:00, noon, to 2:00 p.m. at Schneider Funeral Home.
