Mendon R. Conley, 94, formerly of Lewisville went to be with Jesus on Friday morning, February 22, 2019 at Heritage House in New Castle. He was born September 13, 1924 in Bud, Kentucky, which is today known as Conley Bottom Resort near Monticello, KY. He was the son of the late Benton and Stella (Roberts) Conley.

A longtime resident of Lewisville, Mendon owned and operated Conley’s Well Drilling and Pumps, retiring in 1987 after 40 years. A veteran of the US Navy Air Force, he was attached to a CASU in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of the National and Indiana Well Drillers Associations.

Mendon was also a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle where he served as greeter. He belonged to the Joy Club, Pure in Heart Sunday school class and started a men’s prayer meeting group. He was a former member of the New Hope Church in Lewisville where he served on the church board, head of the building committee and taught Sunday school.

Mendon enjoyed boating and spending time with his family and friends. He was loved and admired by his friends and family for his strong Christian testimony. He is survived by his wife, Judith (Himes) Conley; daughters, Deborah (Joel) Sensing of Nashville, TN and Kathryn (Rex, Jr.) Criswell of New Castle; son, Robert (Jennifer) Conley of Bethpage, TN; 7 grandchildren, Michelle (James “Obee”) O’Bryant, Natalie Criswell, Mary Beth (Jason) Gardiner, Matthew (Whitney) Sensing, Nathan (Alicia) Criswell, Austin Conley and Alan Conley; 8 great-grandchildren, Brendon, Gavin and Katelyn O’Bryant, Knox Sensing, Addison and Carson Gardiner and Cooper and Colton Criswell; sisters, Barbara Golay of Lewisville and Betty Stevens of Spiceland; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Conley and Becky Conley; brothers-in-law, Marion (Lenita) Hickman and Duane (Lynn) Daugherty; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife of 27 years, Mary Louise (Daugherty) Conley; son, Stephen Conley; siblings, Oliver Conley, Cordell Conley, Pauline Hickman, Lynn Conley and Faye Johnson; sister-in-law, Syble Conley and brothers-in-law, Donald Stevens, Larry Johnson and Orlan Golay. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 25, 2019 at First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle with Reverends Jonathan Morgan, Danny Goddard and Norwood Kreuzinger officiating. Burial will follow in Lewisville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, February 24 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
