Merida Santiago ( nee Rivera ), 96 of Perth Amboy, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at Amboy Care Center, Perth Amboy with her family by her side. Merida was born and raised in Toa Alta, Puerto Rico, and came to Perth Amboy in 61 years ago. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was an avid cook. She was a parishioner of the Beth El Pentecostal Church, Perth Amboy, and was active with the church. She is preceded in death by her loving parents Angel and Lucia ( nee Vazquez ) Rivera,; dear sister of 4 brothers and a sister.

She is survived by beloved son Victor Santiago; cherished sister of Felicita Figueroa, Ana Lydia Reyes, Juana Oyola Rivera and Espanislao “Pepe” Rivera; adored aunt of many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 12 pm at the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy. Interment will follow at Forest Green Memorial Park, Marlboro Township.

Visiting is on Tuesday from 10 ~ 12 pm.
