Merle L. Busch, age 87, of Emlenton and longtime resident of Ninevah, passed away Tuesday morning, April 24, 2018 at the Shippenville Health Care and Rehabilitiation Center. Born June 9, 1930 in Endeavor, he was a son of the late Forrest and Violet Bean Busch. He attended the school at Lamartine until 10th grade and obtained his GED at a later date.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was stationed in Tripoli, Libya during the Korean Conflict. Merle was a carpenter and known for his cabinet making. He worked for the Cotherman Brothers for many years and assisted in renovating the Bethany Crossroads Church, of which he was a member.

He was a longtime member of the Pennsylvania Gun Owner and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, music, playing Aggravation,Dominos and 500 Bid. Survivors include his wife, Nancy; Son: Charles Busch; Step-son, Kevin Linton and his wife, Amy; Daughters: Gail Pipher and her husband, Jeffrey; Terri B. Renfrew and her husband, Robert and Connie McGuirk and her husband, Terrence; Step-daughter: Cathy Procious and her husband, Perry; daughter-in-law, Robin Busch; step-son-in-law, David Farver; Grandchildren: Forrest Hurrelbrink, Leandra Busch, Jonas Pipher, Dustin Renfrew, Lacy Perry, Nick and Blayne McGuirk, Maryellen Lowrey, Eli Busch, Abby Hartwig and Aaron Busch and step-grandchildren: Nicole, Kelsey and Brianna Linton, Joshua Procius and Jennifer and Ryan Farver; 15 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. Merle is also survived by two brothers: Ronald Busch and David Busch and three sisters: Mildred Porter, Shirley Douglas and Barbara Burke.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Philip Busch; step-daughter, Lisa Farver; brother, Darol McKissick and sisters, Betty Goodman, Donna Chambers and EdnaMae McGinnis. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc, 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 in the funeral home with the Reverend Chris Lewis, Pastor of the Bethany Crossroads Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sunset Hill Memorial Garden in Cranberry, Venango County. Online condolences may be sent to Merle’s family at www.
