Michael “Mike” A. Wold, 56, of Davis Junction, IL passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018. Mike was born in Rockford, IL on February 8, 1962, son of Edward and Nancy (Widrig) Wold. He was married to Wendy (Townsend) on October 4, 1997, but best friends for 28 years.

Mike graduated from Harlem High School and worked as an Advanced Sales Engineer at Gleason Cutting Tools in Rockford IL for many years. Mike was a people person who truly lived his life for others. He loved his family and friends… Read More » more than anything else.

Mike was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks. Watching sporting events on the weekend with his family was one of his favorite things to do. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, cooking, singing, and had a great passion for his yard and pool.

His dream was to retire out in Colorado with his wife. Mike will be deeply missed. Surviving relatives include his loving wife, Wendy Wold; children, Andrea (John) Featherston, Heather Halstead (Tyler Lovejoy) and Maddi Wold (Ethan Johnson); mother, Nancy Wold; mother-in-law, Betty Townsend; grandchildren, Johnny and Ali Featherston, Audrey Halstead and Noah Lovejoy.

Mike is predeceased by his father, Edward “Harvey” Wold; grandparents, Robert (Kathryn) Widrig and father-in-law, Bill Townsend. To celebrate the life of Michael Wold, a gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the family.
