Obituary for Michael Charles Basso Sr. Michael Charles Basso, Sr., 88, husband of Katherine Crenshaw Basso, died Monday, April 2, 2018, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. Born January 31, 1930, in Trenton, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Vincent Basso and the late Claire Wood Basso. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.

He was the owner of Carolina Motors. Survivors include his wife of 60 years; a son, Michael C. Basso, Jr. (Donna); three step-children, Norma Brusnahan, Dale Harris, and Ronnie Harris; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev.

Charles Ahtonen officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
