Obituary for Wardell Swann Wardell Swann, 87, husband of Fairey Butler Swann, died Thursday, April 26, 2018, at his home. Born November 10, 1930, in Farmville, Virginia, he was a son of the late Elijah Swann and the late Landonia Swann. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness West Congregation.

He retired from Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore, Maryland after 30 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 24 years; two step-children, Julie Bell of Miami, Florida and Cassie Brownlee of Sumter; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Swann; and two step-children, Kevin Hines and Enid Hines.

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 P.M. Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses West Congregation, 100 Lynam Rd. with Mr. Joe Parrot officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:30 P.M. Sunday at the Kingdom Hall and other times at the home.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
