Mr. Michael F. Amick, Sr., 88, of Imlertown Road, Bedford, died Saturday, May 19th, 2018 at UPMC Bedford Hospital. Mr. Amick was born in Bedford on January 17, 1930, the son of the late Michael F. Amick and Sue (Sigler) Amick Fleck. On May 9, 1955, he married Hazel L. (Tew) Amick.

She preceded him in death on August 16, 2004. He is survived by Son- Michael F. Amick Jr. husband of Connie (Croyle) Amick, Bedford; Daughter- Sharon wife of Pat McVicker, Bedford; Daughter- Debbie Y. Simpson, State College; Son- David A. Amick, Bedford; Grandchildren- Michael III, Patrick, Jr., Caitlin and Mykinzie; Great Granddaughters- Claire and Hadley McVicker and Brother- Ted Fleck, Chambersburg. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Amick and a sister, Ruth Mackey.

Mike served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of both the Bedford American Legion Post #113 and the Bedford VFW Post #7527. Mike was the owner and operator of Dick’s Generator Service in Bedford.

He was an outdoorman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. When the weather kept him inside, he could be found putting together jigsaw puzzles. Mike was a wonderful father, a loving grandfather, a good brother and a dedicated friend.

He will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018. Interment will be held at St James Lutheran Cemetery, Bedford.

Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Bedford.
