On August 29, 2018, Michael M. Dixon beloved father and brother died at his residence in Tyler, Texas at the age of 72. He was born in Merced, California on October 18, 1945. Michael is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

He is survived by 2 sisters, 1 brother, and his 3 children. He was a loving and caring father, as well as brother, and will be missed greatly by his family. He had many close friends and will missed by them as well.

Michael attended Atwater High School and was among the students who attended it’s first year. He joined the United States Army and obtained his GED while serving his country. After his time in the service, he worked for Boeing Aircraft in Merced until they shut down their operations in Merced.

In 1972 Ragu opened their doors in Merced, at which time Michael began working for them until they closed down their operations in 2007 and retired at the age of 62. In 2013 Michael moved to Tyler, Texas where he spent the last 5 years of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his sister and brother in law who also lived in Tyler.

He enjoyed the many classic car shows in their surrounding area. It was indeed the most peaceful and enjoyable time in his life. Unfortunately his retirement was cut short due to illness and he was unable to enjoy the new life he had created for himself.

Michael will be laid to rest next to his brother, as he intended, in the Cypress Gardens at the Winton Cemetery. The graveside service will be held on September 29, 2018 at 10:00am The family would like to ask in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local VFW in his name. That would truly be the best way to honor his memory.
