She was born March 1, 1944 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to William Austin Hust and Mary Lou (Nixon) Hust (later Paetsch). She grew up mainly in southern California, where she developed her love for water skiing.

She moved to Concord and graduated from Clayton Valley High where she loved choir above other classes and graduated in 1962. She married Lanny Charles Locken Sr. November 30, 1962 and baby Rainne Sue was born June 17, 1963, but sadly did not survive. They moved back to southern California where son Lanny was born June 14, 1965.

The family moved to the Merced area in 1972 where son Kenny was born May 24, 1976. Not wanting to work outside the home, Sue started her day care business, Christian Home Day Care, soon after. Chuck and Sue separated in 1984.

Sue was very active in her church, Merced Olive-East Seventh-Day Adventist, singing, teaching children and later also adult classes. This is where she met Pete Wiedemann and they married November 10, 1990 in the Yosemite chapel. They enjoyed the nearby outdoors and paddling their tandem kayak and watching birds.

Above all Sue loved her God, her husband, her children, grandchildren (all of whom lived with us at some time), and the children she cared for. A memorial service to honor her life will be held at Merced Olive-East Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2222 E Olive Ave. November 19, at 6 pm.
