Michele L. Matos (nee: Levinson), 46, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Bayonne Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Michele was employed as a sales administrator for 8 years with the Empire Office Corporation in Manhattan, New York. Michele served as past Exalted Ruler for the Elks Lodge #434 in Bayonne where she and her husband John were active members.

She was instrumental in coordinating many successful fundraisers which aided Children with Special Needs and the Military and Veteran Family Committee. She was a member of the Motorcycle Committee as part of the Elks activity and enjoyed every opportunity motorcycling with her husband. Michele’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and in her spare time loved playing Candy Crush.

Her gracious heart is what those who knew her will always remember and she will be tremendously missed. Michele was predeceased by her loving parents, Jay and Mary Levinson (Brennan) and her beloved nephew Malachy Byrne. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 25 years, John Matos, her two daughters, Jessica and Shannon, her sister Alyson and husband Gary Byrne, her nieces and nephews, Katie Matos, Matthew and David Wagner, Zachary and Kiera Byrne, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and Elks Lodge friends.

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 25, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Everyone is asked to assemble at the Blessed Miriam Theresa Demjanovich Parish at St. Andrew’s Church, 2 West 4th Street, Bayonne on Thursday, April 26, at 9:45 am for a 10:00 am funeral mass in Michele’s honor. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family would be most appreciated. *Please note, there will be no visitation at the funeral home on Thursday morning.
