Obituary for Michele Lichty Michele C. Lichty Pleasanton Resident Michele C. Lichty, 68, of Pleasanton, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Serenade Assisted Living in Gilbert, Arizona. Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Interment will follow the services at Kearney Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Condolences may be shared online at www.
osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Michele Candice Lichty was born on July 11, 1950 in Plainview, Nebraska to Dr. R.E. and Pauline D. (Kepler) Kopp.
She grew up in Plainview and received her education from Plainview high school graduating with the class of 1968. She then pursued higher education and received her Bachelor of Nursing from Nebraska Methodist Hospital. Following her education, Michele was united in marriage to Lynn R. Lichty on August 28, 1971 in Plainview, Nebraska and to this union two children were born: Robert and Jill.
The family made their home in Kearney. Michele worked for Kearney Clinic after college. She then was employed at Good Samaritan Hospital for 20 years where she taught Lamaze classes during her time there.
Then she went to work in home health, until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kearney. She enjoyed ceramics, quilting and gardening.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Lynn Lichty of Pleasanton, Nebraska; son, Robert Lichty and his wife, Stacy of Kearney, Nebraska; daughter, Jill Gewecke and her husband, Mike of Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren, Bailey Lichty of Kearney, Nebraska, and Ashley and Lindsey Gewecke of Gilbert, Arizona; along with many other relatives and friends.
