OBITUARY Michelle Anne Zacek July 25, 1953 – July 12, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Michelle Anne (Benoit) Zacek, 64 of Hyannis MA Passed peacefully on July 12th, 2018 at South Shore Hospital due to complications from bile duct cancer and Multiple Sclerosis. Born in Southbridge, MA in 1953 and the daughter of Clarence E. Benoit and Sarah A. (Tougas) Benoit. She graduated from Oxford high school in 1971.

She was long employed at UMass Medical Center in the accounts payable department. She then went on to work at Hanover Insurance company until she became unable to work due to her Multiple Sclerosis symptoms. She raised her family in Spencer MA, where she resided for over 30 years.

She was happy to move to the Cape to be closer to her son, grandchildren, and the beaches that she loved. Digging clams was a favorite past time of hers which she invited many family and friends to join in. She was a member of the Barnstable Association for Recreational Shellfishing and joined in as many of their annual events as she could, including the annual blessing of the rakes.

She also enjoyed tending to her garden and attained varied crafting hobbies including jewelry making, crocheting and sewing. She attended Mass at the St. Francis Xavier church regularly and was a devout Catholic. She is survived by her two children Justin C. Zacek and wife Liz of West Yarmouth MA and Jessica S. Lederman and husband Andrew of Halifax MA; Ex husband Dennis J. Zacek; One brother Richard Benoit; Two Grandchildren Nicholas and Caitlyn Zacek and a granddog Eva Lederman.

Predeceased by her brother Dennis Benoit of Jamaica Plains Boston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mass on Wednesday July 18th at 11:00am at the St. Francis Xavier church. 347 South st.

Hyannis, MA 02601 Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday July 17th from 5:00pm- 8:00pm and Wednesday July 18th from 9:30-10:30am at Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home 160 West Main st. Hyannis, MA 02601 In lieu of flowers Michelle would have appreciated a donation to the Barnstable Association for Recreational Shellfishing as clamming was one of her favorite hobbies.
