Mildred LaRue Scrip 91 of Stockdale died Friday February 22, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Charleroi on May 14, 1927 a daughter of Bryson and Carrie Montague Schaefer. LaRue as she was known, was Orthodox by faith.

She was a member of the Roscoe Methodist Church, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #801 Roscoe, and the Charleroi Golden Agers. Surviving are her daughters Sharon (Duane) Moore of Jackson, TN and Marcy Walker of Coal Center, 2 grandchildren Mitchell (Kristin) Walker and Sarah LaRue Walker, 2 great-grandchildren; Wyatt and Hudson Walker, her Godchildren; William Podany and Dawn Hoffman, friends Darlene Guzzi and Carol Robinson and her longtime caretaker Gloria Pierce. Preceded in death by her husband Peter Scrip, son-in-law Ritchie Walker and her best friend Judy Barber.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 26, 2019 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Melenyzer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc. 1008 Furlong Ave. , Roscoe. Time of funeral services on Wednesday will be announced once confirmed.

Interment will follow at Belle Vernon Cemetery.
