Myrle Graham Ehmann March 29, 1932 ~ January 13, 2019 Myrle Graham Ehmann, our wife, mother, teacher, and grandmother passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 13, 2019 after spending the weekend surrounded by her family. She was 86. She was born in Eden, Utah on March 29, 1932 to James Pierce and Ollie May Graham.
She was the youngest of four daughters, and loved and missed her three sisters, RuthMae Manning, Kathleen McFarland, and Millie Dunn. Although she left The Valley, her heart remained there. She loved taking drives up the canyon and pointing out all the places she loved as a child.
Myrle attended Weber High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1950. She attended Weber College and received her degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University. She loved drama and music classes and being active in many organizations.
She has maintained many friendships from her days at each of these institutions. While attending Utah State, Myrle met Charles Moyes Ehmann. They were married on June 30, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple.
They started their lives together in Ogden, lived in South Ogden, Pleasant View, and most recently in North Ogden. Myrle loved children, and felt that her greatest role in life was being a mom to Leslie, Graham, and Robb. She waited a long time for them, and loved them tremendously.
She sat through many missed note at piano recitals, and “whooped” her lungs out at soccer, basketball, and baseball games. Later she helped raise all of her grandkids who gained a love of books and reading from her. Not only did she fill her role as mom expertly, she was able to influence the lives of countless students across Weber School District as a teacher.
She had a fondness for sixth graders and spent much of her 35 year career teaching and loving them. She could scarcely go anywhere without running into someone who fondly remembered Mrs. Ehmann as their favorite teacher. She retired from Weber School District in 1993, and missed her classroom every day.
Myrle was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had numerous callings throughout her life and served in the Relief Society, Sunday School, and as a missionary at the Distribution Center. Her favorite calling was always in the Primary working with kids.
She loved helping and serving others. She was a friend to all, and everyone who knew her loved her. She had a quick wit, a sharp mind, and was fun to be around.
She loved reading, gardening, walking, and crocheting. She will be missed. Myrle was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, and many friends and relatives.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck; her children, Leslie and Jon Boren, Graham and Stella Ehmann, and Robb Ehmann; her grandkids, Brendon, James and Charlee, Kyle and Megan, Adam, Kylee, Jaylen, Dalton, McKelle, Nicholas, and Ryan; and her great-granddaughters, Rilee, Luna, and Remi. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends she adored. Thanks for being you and loving all of us “forever and always”.
We love you Mom. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
