Obituary for Myrna Lou Huppert Myrna Lou Huppert, 88, died on Friday, July 6, 2018 after a brief and valiant battle with cancer surrounded by her family and the loving staff at Valentine’s. Born May 18, 1930 in Red Wing to Eugene and Harriet Allyn, she graduated from Red Wing High School in 1948. Myrna worked for her parents who owned Allyn’s Bakery for a number of years before she married.

On September 22, 1951, she married Patrick Huppert in Red Wing. Together, with her husband, they opened Towne Squire with brother-in-law Dean Harris and later opened Pat’s Apparel. In 1983, following her husband’s passion for woodworking, they opened Rose Creek where they worked together making homemade gifts and selling other merchandise.

Myrna was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Wing. She enjoyed family vacations in Wisconsin, trips to the cabin in Wacouta, lunch and coffee with friends, taking pictures with her disposable camera, growing nasturtiums, and making potato salad and deviled eggs. Above all else, Myrna enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces & nephews.

Survivors include two sons, Greg (Linda) Huppert, Jeff (Lynn) Huppert, both of Red Wing; two daughters, Gina (Mark) Rathbun of Elk River, Calli (Grant) Ekblad of Red Wing; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one sister, Carmen Harris of Red Wing. She was preceded in death by her husband Pat, son Brad, and sister Peggy. The family would like to thank Hospice and all of the staff at Valentine’s for their extraordinary care.

The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Dana Jackson officiating. Burial will take place at Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
