Obituary for Walter E. Buck Walter Elroy Buck, 89, of Lake City, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and loved ones on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. He was born February 23, 1929 to Harry and Esther (Hinrichs) Buck. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota.

He grew up on the family farm near Mazeppa, MN where he attended school. On June 16, 1949, Walter and Lois (Klein) were united in marriage at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mazeppa. They enjoyed 65 year of marriage together.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City. Walt worked at Federal Mogul for 40 years. Walt and Lois enjoyed spending 20 winters in Florida.

He spent a lot of time fishing, gardening, playing cards and enjoying time with family and his special dog Mitzi. Walter is survived by his two children, David (Jean) Buck and Sharleen (Dale) Kohrs, both of Lake City; six grandchildren, Jody (Rob) Stefonowicz, Shannon (Jim) Heise, Erin (Jason) Lorenson, Tom (Rosie) Kohrs, Christi (Troy) Walker, Josh (Carrie) Kohrs; thirteen great grandchildren; brother Melroy (Edith) Buck, Sister, Lucy Grothe, Sister-in-law, JoAnn Buck. Walt is preceded in death by his wife, Lois; Parents, Harry and Esther; two brothers Harold and Bernerd; brother-in-law, Joseph Grothe.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Reverend David Peters officiating. Burial will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
