Obituary for Catherine and Gerald McEathron Catherine (Cathy) Sue McEathron, 64, and Gerald (Jerry) Kent McEathron, 60 of Red Wing, died Friday, September 7, 2018, near Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, due to the result of a motor vehicle accident. Cathy was born on August 3, 1954, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Scott and Amber (Mehls) Holden. She worked as an activities director at nursing homes in Pepin and Ellsworth, Wisconsin and later worked for Hiawatha Home Care in Red Wing, Minnesota.

For many years she was employed with Xcel Energy, retiring in 2016. She enjoyed baking, cooking, entertaining, and traveling. She was the most giving, caring and selfless person.

She wanted to take care of everyone and everything. She always had a schedule for everything. Her greatest loves were her children and grandchildren and the love of her life, Jerry, with whom she did everything.

Jerry was born on April 14, 1958, in Rochester, Minnesota to Leslie and Betty (Haney) McEathron. For over 25 years, he worked as a boiler operator for Malt-o-Meal in Northfield, Minnesota, recently retiring. He was an avid Minnesota sports fan, enjoyed traveling and playing cribbage and backgammon.

He took great pride in brewing beer and he and Cathy both enjoyed motorcycling and cruising in their 370Z convertible. He was a previous member of the Honda Valkyrie motorcycle club. Even though Jerry was a man of few words, he was an amazing dad, husband and an all-around great family man.

They will be missed. Survivors include Cathy’s three children, Cory (Vicki) Johnson, Christopher (Becky) Johnson and Ryan Johnson and six grandchildren, Carley and Kaitlin Krebsbach, Dylan, Carter and Micah Johnson and Bailey Miller; her mother, Amber Possehl; Jerry’s two children, Darren (Nicole) McEathron and Amanda McEathron, and four grandchildren: Jason McEathron, Tyler and Ethan Hammer, and Savannah McEathron. Cathy is also survived by four siblings: Bob (Jody) Holden, Dave (Debbie) Holden, Connie (Bill) Peterson and Gary (Beth) Holden; Jerry is survived by three siblings: Craig (Lois) McEathron, JoAnne (Kevin) Gilbert and Susan (Joe) Cathcart.

Both are survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Catherine is preceded in death by her father. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and two nephews.

A celebration of life gathering for Cathy and Jerry will be from 4 p.m.to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018, at the Colvill Courtyard at Colvill Park in Red Wing. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www. mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
