Obituary for Charles Steven Paton Charles Steven Paton, age 64 of Red Wing Minnesota lost his battle to cancer on October 28th. Chuck, as most people called him, was surrounded by his closest friends and family when he passed peacefully. Charles Steven Paton was born April 7th 1954 in Red Wing, Minnesota to his parents Dolores (Dode) (Carlstrom) Paton and William Paton.

He grew up in Red Wing MN and graduated from high school in 1972 where he met the love of his life Sheryl Huppert and they were united in marriage September 13th 1975. Chuck started working at Red Wing Shoe in 1972 and worked his way through various positions in the company and retired after 43 years of service. He then became a consultant for DMG International Shoe.

Chuck was most known for the way he could light up a room with his presence, his love for his wife Sheryl and his unconditional love of family and friends. He enjoyed his time with his daughter Jenny Hokanson and son-in-law Joe Lofrano on their boat in the summers. He also enjoyed time with his son Derek Paton and his daughter in-law Kelly Paton at their home in Stillwater MN.

Chuck was a grandfather to Andrea, Parker, Morgan, Madeline, Keegan, Gavin and Quinn. He loved spending time with them, watching them participate in sports and school events as well as teaching them how to hunt and play cards. Chuck and Sheryl spent time riding their Harley, traveling to visit family and friends and loved to play dominoes and cards.

Chuck made everyone feel like the most important person in his life. His many friends were a testimony to that. Chuck will be forever missed but will always be in our hearts.

He is survived by his wife Sheryl, daughter Jenny (Joe) of Red Wing MN; son Derek (Kelly) of Stillwater MN, siblings Robert (Jan) of Albuquerque, N.M, Richard (Nancy) of Lake City MN, Sandra (Mark) Bailey of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jayne Ann Valley of Burnsville, MN, Debbie Paton of Red Wing, MN, Daniel (Maria McKenzie) of Blaine, MN, Susan (Al) Winberg of Red Wing, Michael (Tobi) of Sacramento, Calif. , and Karen (Brian) Maxwell of Red Wing. He is also survived by his brother and sister in laws, Ronald (Jill) Huppert of Red Wing, Sharon Lorraine (Peter Helegson) of Vadnais Heights, Robert (Kathryn) Huppert of Wasilla Alaska, Roger (Carrie) Huppert of Scottsdale Arizona, Richard (Sharon) Huppert of Red Wing, Sheila (Mike) Goering of Red Wing, and Rodney (Gina) Huppert of Red Wing, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother Dolores and father William and brother David. A celebration of life will take place at the American Legion Leo C.
