Obituary for Delmont “Del” Hague Delmont “Del” Ralph Hague, 74, of Hager City, Wis. , died Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island, Minn. He was born April 1, 1944 in Plum City, Wis.

to Ralph and LaVina (Jennings) Hague. He grew up in Maiden Rock, Wis. and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1962 and then went on to Barber School.

He worked in Winona for two years before moving to Red Wing where he co-owned and operated Larry and Del’s Barber Shop for 47 years. Del appreciated the friendships that he made throughout the years at the barber shop—always thinking of his clients as friends not just customers. His second occupation and passion, something he started in the early 1970’s, was farming in Maiden Rock.

A full day at the barber shop was often followed by a late night of farming. Del was a member of First Covenant Church. On January 30, 1985 he married Janet Degener.

Together Del and Janet enjoyed camping and traveling together, especially trips to Mexico. Del also enjoyed ATV and UTVing in the Arizona mountains where he and Janet would spend the winter. Together they made many friends and enjoyed time with their “winter family” in Arizona.

Del is survived by his wife, Janet; daughter, Tammy (Wade) Strain of Hager City; son, Hunter Hague of Hager City; step sons, Ren, Chris (Jen) and Reed (Julie) Degener of Rochester; grandchildren, Brock and Blair Strain, Hannah, Natalie, Evan, Cael, Tate and Addison Degener; brother, Ron (Jill) Hague of Ellsworth; sister, Lila (Larry) Hilden of River Falls and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, October 18, 2018 at First Covenant Church with Reverend Marc Eix officiating.

Visitation will be 4-7p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing and one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Pine Haven Care Center or First Covenant Church. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.
