Obituary for Keith Russell Gordon Keith Russell Gordon, 90, of Red Wing, Minn. died Thursday, October 11, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born January 31, 1928 in Winona, Minn.

to Edward and Dorothy (Morse) Gordon. He resided in St. Charles, Minn. briefly before moving to Chatfield, Minn.

where he graduated from Chatfield High School in 1946. During high school he was co-captain of the football team that was not only undefeated but also untied and unscored upon. Following high school he served in the 82nd Airborne Division, 504th parachute infantry for 3 years.

In 1953 he graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. In 1955 he and Colleen Cronin were married in Hastings, Neb. The couple lived in Chatfield and Keith was employed at Security Mutual Insurance Co. During his career he was named Field Representative of the Year on two different occasions.

After 38 years with Citizen Security Insurance Co. he retired as a resident vice president and territory manager in the states of Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Keith was an active member of the communities in which he lived. While in Chatfield he served as president of the Chatfield Library Board, a state director of the MN Jaycees, President of the Southeastern Claims Association and a member of the Chatfield Commercial Club.

He was also a past member of the Antique Aircraft Association, owning two airplanes, a 1937 Monocoupe and a Stearman PT-17. In 1965 the couple moved to Red Wing. During his time in Red Wing he was past president of the Minnesota 1752 Club, a past member of the Mississippi National Golf Links, very active in the Red Wing Golden K. Kiwanis Club, serving as president and secretary, and won Kiwanian of the year as well as being awarded the Hixon Medal.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was an usher and served on the Church Council. He is survived by his wife, Colleen; daughter, Anne Costello (Thomas) of Naperville, Ill, sons William of Edina, Minn. , Mark (Katya) of Two Harbors, Minn.

, Thomas (Gail) of Farmington, Minn. , Robert (Monica) of West Des Moines, Iowa, Steven (Leisa) of Seymour, Tenn. and Richard (Kendra) of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren Torin, Emily, Maura Costello, Trevor, Brittney, Cedar, Lamar, Anthony, Katelyn, Luke, Samantha, Jacob, Eli, Claire, and Chase Gordon, and Elisabeth Johnson; one great grandchild, Aubree.

A visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing. A private family service will be held. Burial at the Chatfield Cemetery in Chatfield, MN.
