Obituary for Donna Mae Hinrichs Donna M. Hinrichs, age 84, Zumbrota, and recently a resident at Pine Haven Nursing home in Pine Island passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Pastor Wayne Schoch officiating. The visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Burial will be in the Zumbrota Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Mahn Family Funeral Home – Larson Chapel. Donna Mae Loken was born on June 18, 1934 in Minneola Township, the daughter of Harold and Cora (Berg) Loken.

She graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1952. She married Arley Hinrichs on May 14, 1955 at Lands Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. They operated a small dairy farm north of Zumbrota for the next 35 years.

Along with raising their four children, Donna worked various jobs that included Mayo Clinic and Seneca Foods. In the mid 70’s she was a cook for the Zumbrota Hospital before transitioning to the dietary manager position at Zumbrota Health Services a few years later. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

She enjoyed baking, was an avid gardener, and loved to attend her grandchildren’s school activities. Donna is survived by her children, Julie (Kevin) O’Marro of Rochester, Janet McCoy of Rochester, Peter (Diane) Hinrichs of Zumbrota and Tomas (Roxanne) Hinrichs of Chippewa Falls, WI; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and brother, Richard (Marlys) Loken of Wanamingo. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Arley; brother, Robert Loken; granddaughter, Abby Hinrichs; and her parents.

A special Thank You to the caring and wonderful staff at Pine Haven Care Center and The Heartland Hospice team. We are also grateful for Pastor Schoch and Vicar Schmidt’s visits and devotions. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church, Heartland Hospice or Pine Haven Foundation.
