Obituary for Richard Ellis Josselyn Richard E. Josselyn, age 92, of Rochester, died Sunday Sept. 9, 2018 at The Homestead in Rochester. Richard Ellis Josselyn was born Apr.

25, 1926 in Rochester to Lynn and Margaret (Heins) Josselyn. He was raised in the Rochester area where he farmed with his family. Richard served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre of Operation, Germany.

He served from 1944 to 1946 and was discharged with the rank of T-4. On Apr. 10, 1950 he married Geraldine “Dobby” Peterson in Rochester, she survives.

The couple farmed in the Mazeppa area for 32 years, retiring 1988 and moving to Zumbrota. The couple moved to The Homestead in Rochester in 2007. Richard attended Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Zumbrota, and was a member of the American Legion Post #588 for over 50 years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, playing cards, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife Dobby; two daughters Jean (Patrick) Hanson of Brooklyn Park, MN; and Kathy (Alan) Flotterud of Zumbrota; two sons Robert (Marie) of Mazeppa; and Jeffrey (Elaine) of Zumbrota; grandchildren Ashley, David, Jenny, Melainie, Stephanie, Julia, Amy, Nick, Scott, and Emma; great grandchildren Gwen, and Serephina; and several step grand and great grandchildren; sisters Betty (Harvey) Holtan; Marlynn (Gerald) Brown; and Marjorie (Mick) Heckman, all of Rochester; and his brother Ron of Kasson, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lowell “Jim” and Larry, and his sister Genevieve.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday Sept. 13, 2018 at Mahn Family Funeral Home – Rochester Chapel with Rev. Eric Westlake of Our Saviors Lutheran Church officiating.

Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, and one hour before the service Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oronoco Cemetery with Military Honors by the Mazeppa Veterans Honor Guard. Memorials may be directed to the family and will be divided between charities of Richard’s choosing.
