Myrtice “Midge” Calcutt Humphries, 92, wife of the late James Norman Humphries, died Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at her residence. Mrs. Humphries was born on September 6, 1926 in Florence County, daughter of the late Boyd Edward Calcutt and Bertha Elise Hanna Calcutt. She was a member of Beulah Free Will Baptist Church and was formerly employed with Wentworth Manufacturing, A. B. Dick and Coleman Company.

Surviving are her children, Theresa H. Graham of Scranton, Cheryl (Colin) Moore of Cades, Deryl (Amenda) Humphries of Johnsonville and Karen (Reg) Baxley of Lake City; sister, Shirley Poston; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Humphries was preceded in death by grandsons, Kevin Humphries and Walter R. Baxley, IV; siblings, J. Q. Lyerly, Ovid Lyerly, Nora Bazen, Wallace Calcutt, Kemp Calcutt, Evelyn Collins, Myrtle “Sallie” Moore, Elise Lawrimore, Miriam Lawrimore, Coolidge Calcutt and Ulmer Calcutt. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Thursday, February 14, 2019, at Beulah Free Will Baptist Church, Pamplico.

Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Thursday, February 14, 2019, at Beulah Free Will Baptist Church, Bazen Crossroads, Pamplico. The family would like to extend a special “Thanks” to Pruitt Hospice and caretakers, Annette Harrelson, Janette Godwin, Donna Cribb, Elease Fulton and Sherelle Purvis for their care and concern during this time.

Memorials may be made to Lake City Presbyterian Church, c/o Meals On Wheels, PO Box 1747, Lake City, SC 29560 or Beulah Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, 235 West Bazen Road, Pamplico, SC 29583.
