Nancy Carol Johnson (Wagner), 81, of Appleton died Monday September 3, 2018. She was born February 21, 1937, daughter of the late Ralph and Lucille (Dudek) Wagner. Nancy worked at the former Newpage Papermill from the time she was 18 until her retirement.

She was an avid Packer fan, and attended several games at Lambeau Field, including the Ice Bowl in 1967. Nancy loved to travel, especially her occasional gambling trips to Las Vegas. She also enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends.

Nancy’s greatest enjoyment came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Nancy is survived by her daughter Lori (fiancé Ron); three granddaughters: Nikki (special friend, Frank), and her children, Kylie and Bentlee, Danielle, and Nicole (Travis) and her three children, Kashtyn, Skylar and Syris; two grandsons: Jacob and his three children, Braedyn, Layla and Karson, Brandon and his daughter, Sophia; Nancy is further survived by her daughter in-law, Tracy Krueger; three step children; a step daughter in-law; many step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. And her special friend and caregiver, June Buchanan.

Nancy is further preceded in death by an infant son; infant grandson, Jeremiah; her son, Jeff Krueger; step son, Jim; her husband’s: Ken and Doug; two brothers: Robert and Howie Wagner; sister in-law, Connie; and special friends: Donna and Marilyn. Funeral service for Nancy will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday September 12, 2018 at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 326 E. North St. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening at the Valley Funeral Home beginning at 3:00 until 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning at the church from 10:00 until 10:45 AM, with service to follow at 11:00 AM.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. Nancy’s family would like to extend a most sincere thank you to the entire staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton, and to ThedaCare Hospice for all of their amazing care and compassion for Nancy and her family. Gramma, your golden heart stopped beating, your final breath taken.

God knew you were tired, so he wrapped his arms around you and together you flew high above. You are no longer suffering and in pain, the look of peace on your face made me smile and tears began to flow. It was an honor and a blessing to have been here as you greeted our Lord with open arms as you began your journey into eternal life.

We all love and miss you so much until we meet again. Lots of love, Nikki, Kylie and Bentlee.
