Nancy E. (Nelson) Janoski, 80, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Homewood at Plum Creek. Born November 19, 1938 in Edwardsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Frances E. (Vonsavage) Nelson. Nancy was the loving wife of Thomas M. Janoski with who she shared 54 years of marriage.

Nancy was a 1956 graduate of Edwardsville High School and worked briefly for Social Security before devoting her time to raising her family. Nancy was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Hanover, PA. Nancy was well known for her smile and her ability to strike up a conversation with anyone.

She loved playing cards with her friends, shopping for shoes and purses, trips to Atlantic City and being a Babci to her six grandchildren and spending time with family & friends. In addition to her husband, Tom, Nancy is survived by her daughter, Lee Ann Eckert and husband Donny of Finksburg, MD and her daughter, Laine Janoski, also of Finksburg, MD. She was a loving Babci to her grandchildren, Natalie, Alex, Tommy, Kyle, Molly and Drew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Monday, February 4, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA with Msgr. James M. Lyons as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA.

Viewings will be held from 1 – 3 PM, Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, as well as from 10-11 AM, Monday, February 4, 2019 at the church. The family would like to thank Homewood at Plum Creek for making Nancy’s final weeks comfortable and peaceful and offer special thanks to her caregivers, for their compassion, friendship and skilled assistance. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nancy’s memory may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund, 505 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA 17331 The Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
