Clio, SC Nannie Eleanor Gibson, 86, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at Dundee Manor in Bennettsville. Born November 25, 1931 in Bennettsville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Henry Grady, Sr. and Eleanor Isabelle Covington McRae. She was a 1951 graduate of Clio High School and was a member of the Clio First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gibson was a retired licensed Nursing Assistant with Marlboro General Hospital in Bennettsville. She was also a carrier for the Charlotte Observer for over 35 years in the Clio area. Mrs. Gibson enjoyed looking after children.

She is survived by her sons, Wayne Gibson and wife Lowall of Bennettsville, John D. Gibson, Jr. and wife Frieda of McColl and Gerald Thomas Gibson of Greenville, SC; sister, Grace Adele McRae Pearson of Bennettsville; 10 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her parents listed above; husband, John Gibson, Sr.; and her brother, Henry Grady McRae, Jr. A funeral service will be held 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Burroughs Funeral Home of Bennettsville, with burial to follow in McLucas Cemetery in Clio. A visitation will be held from 4 until 5:00 p.m. just prior to the service at the funeral home.
