Obituary for Neal M. Gilder Neal M. Gilder, 59, of Spartanburg, SC passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born February 10, 1959, in New York, NY, he was the son of the late David Howard Gilder and Barbara Norma Hyman Gilder of Potomac, MD. Neal was General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of The Country Club of Spartanburg and previously managed the Eastern Shore Yacht & Country Club in Onley, VA, Big Spring Country Club in Louisville, KY, and Carmel Country Club in Charlotte, NC.

He was a member of CMAA (CCM, CCE, CFE) and previous owner of Arbor Ridge Vine & Grill in Crestwood, KY. He was a 1977 graduate of Winston Churchill High School, Potomac, MD and 1981 graduate of Rollins College in Winter Park FL. Neal was known to be a man of patience, humor, understanding, foresight, dedication and service to many.

He had a passion for travel, sailing, cooking and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Nikki Deer Gilder; children, Meghan Gilder of New York, NY and Alex Gilder of Washington, DC; sister, Natalie Geiger (Ed) of Mechanicsburg, PA; and 11 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Gilder.

Special thanks is expressed to his medical team at SRMC for their care and compassion. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Country Club of Spartanburg, 2500 Country Club Rd. , Spartanburg, SC 29302.

The family is requesting that guests do not wear black attire; business casual is appropriate.
