Obituary for Mr. NEIL FREDERICK “Rick” SIMON FORT WORTH – Neil Frederick Simon, a loving husband and wonderful father, passed away Monday morning, June 18, 2018. He was 53. SERVICE: A service at the grave will be held at 9:45 a.m. Thursday in the Beth-El Section of Greenwood Memorial Park.

A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of Beth-El Congregation, 4900 Briarhaven Road. Family and friends will be received in the temple’s Gathering Area immediately following the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the Greene Family Camp in Bruceville, Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County, or the University of Oklahoma Hillel, in his memory, is suggested.

Born December 12, 1964 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rick was the son of David H. and Marilyn Mirkin Simon. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma where he served as president of A E Pi Fraternity. Rick worked 31 years for the federal government and was a safety engineer with the F.A.A.

He and his family moved to Fort Worth in 2001 where they joined Beth-El Congregation. He was instrumental in forming the Junior Youth Group and was active in the temple’s brotherhood. He was preceded in death by his father.

SURVIVORS: In addition to his wife, Sherry, Rick is survived by his children, Cooper, Hannah and Avery; his mother, Marilyn Wood; and sister and brother, Stacey Simon and Grant Simon and his wife, Jennifer.
