Nellie’s Obituary Nellie Catharine Steele, 102, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. The Lawrence County native was born June 28, 1916, a daughter of the late Oris Willard Brown and Mary Hinton Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Steele.

Mrs. Steele attended Coryville Schools and was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: two brothers six sisters She is survived by: a son: Fred Robert Steele of Ironton three daughters: Geneiva (David) James of Beaver, OH, Catharine (Ben) Yates of Ironton and Bonnie (Donald) Tibbs of Cincinnati, OH seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one step great grandchild, and three great great grandchildren Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. on Friday, January 11, 2018 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio with Brother Jerry Dickerson officiating.

Burial will follow in Mamre Cemetery and visitation will be January 11, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
