Clarence’s Obituary Clarence “Luke” Anderson, of Ironton, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. Mr. Anderson was born November 8, 1940, to the late Lonnie Anderson and Rebecca Large Anderson at Forrestdale, Ohio. Mr. Anderson attended Coal Grove High School.

He married his beloved wife, Verlene Ruggles Anderson, August 26, 1961. Mr. Anderson retired from TBA Masonry in Florida in 1989. He was a life-long musician and most recently played bass with The Country Knights.

He was a member of New Valley Missionary Baptist Church and attended Little Jewel Old Regular Baptist Church for the past 25 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Eugene Anderson and Jimmy L. Anderson and sisters, Janet Stapleton and Donna Gail Clifton, and a great grandson Charlie McFann. Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife, Verlene; sons, Luke (Lisa) Anderson and Mark Anderson all of Ironton; 7 grandchildren, Kendra (Dallas) Savino of South Point, Becky (Aaron) Dumbaugh of Raceland, Kenny Anderson, and Mark (Shanna) Anderson all of Ironton, Kody and Kaelyn Anderson of Grayson, KY and Brett Anderson of Michigan; 9 great-grandchildren, Braydon and Kadin Shore, Kami Gianna, and Kase Savino, Autumn, Beau, and Mabrie Anderson and baby boy Anderson due April 2019; a sister Sue Vallence and a brother Roger Anderson both of Ironton and special in-laws, Homer Ruggles, Arnold (Sue) Ruggles, Juanita (Raymond) Mullens, Delores (Andy) Nelson, Fealden Jr. (Brenda) Ruggles.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South Sixth Street, Ironton, by Fealden Ruggles, Jr and Terry Bryant. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 3, with visitation at noon and service beginning at 1:00 P.M., followed by burial at Pine Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Anderson’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers and his former band mates as honorary pallbearers. Donations may be made in Mr. Anderson’s name to Little Jewel Church, 204 Kentucky Street, Ashland, KY 41102.
