Sylvia’s Obituary Sylvia Marie Morgan, 97, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Harbor Health Care. The Lawrence County native was born February 18, 1923, a daughter of the late Albert E. and Amelia Layne Morgan. Sylvia was valedictorian for Decatur High School, class of 1942.

She was a former laborer of Henrites and also worked for the N.Y.A. Center in Ironton. She was a member of the Hanging Rock Church of the Nazarene and also attended Elm Street Church of the Nazarene in Ironton. She loved her family but more importantly, loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: two sisters: Myrtle and Irene Morgan a brother: Ewell Emerson Morgan She is survived by: a brother: Gerald (A. Kay) L. Morgan and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 1, 2019 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street Ironton, Ohio 45638 with Pastor Gary Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
