Obituary of Niles H. Doud Niles H. “Judge” Doud, 91, formerly of Harris Hollow Rd. , Gerry passed away Saturday (March 9, 2019) in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. A lifelong area resident he was born October 20, 1927 in Cherry Creek, NY, the son of the late Paul and Sadie Hadley Doud.

Niles was a graduate of Falconer High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII and Korea aboard the USS New Jersey. In earlier years he was employed by GLF, Sealtest Milk Plant, Doud Electric Company and Contracting and prior to retirement he was employed by Ring Punch and Die. He had served as Town of Ellington Magistrate for 20 years.

Niles was a member of the Randolph Post 181, American Legion for over 70 years, NYS Magistrates Association and was a life member of the Ellington Rod & Gun Club. He had served on the Falconer Central School Board and was a member of the School Mates Reunion, Sinclairville 76er’s and Troopers Toys for Totts. He enjoyed his family, working and woodworking.

Surviving are two sons: Irv (Deborah) Doud of Randolph, Donald (Janet) Doud of Ellington; a daughter Nila (Harry) Kaltenbach of Gerry; seven grandchildren: Scott (Tina) Doud, Todd (Julie) Doud, Gregory (Charidy) Doud, Joann (Tim) Barrus, Carrie (Derek) Beckman, Holly (Steve) Musall, Corry (Ashley) Kaltenbach; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and a brother James Archie (Jennifer) Doud of Ohio. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Alice J. Colburn Doud whom he married April 16, 1949, who died January 16, 1999; four brothers: Richard, Calvin, Wilbur and Jesse Doud. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home.

Rev. Sue Hadley will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Ellington.

Friends will be received by the family from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7p. m to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be donated to Chautauqua County Hospice, and the Ellington Fire Department, or a Charity of One’s Choice.
