Nita Ann Hebb August 5, 1944 – January 5, 2019 Nita Ann Adams Hebb, 74, passed away on January 5, 2019. Nita Ann was born on August 5, 1944 in Terrell, Texas. She was a life-long Kaufman resident and the daughter of the late Roderick and Juanita Adams of Kaufman, Texas.
At an early age, Nita Ann knew she loved animals, and especially horses. Her love of horses and rodeo culminated in her being crowned Queen of the Mesquite Rodeo in 1961. Mrs. Hebb attended Kaufman High School and was class of 1962.
She married Kurly Hebb in September of 1968 in Durant, Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband and two children, Wade Hebb and Kanzi Hebb of Kaufman; as well as her brother, Rod Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Lennilu Adams; her nephew, Capt.
Jimmy Wayne Adams; and her favorite dog Buster. She was proud of her father’s contracting company, RN Adams that facilitated the growth of Northeast Texas with his company’s many construction projects, including the development of Highway 175.
Nita Ann and her husband (Kabars Ranch) are successful ranchers. One of their earliest successes was importing a Chianina Hiefer from Italy, where she birthed the first pure blood Chianina Bull on United States soil. Along with raising her family, ranching with her husband, Nita Ann found time to teach swimming lessons to the children in Kaufman.
As the years passed, Nita Ann stopped teaching swimming, but continued to serve her community. There are countless people that Nita Ann touched in her beloved Kaufman. She is well-known for her work with the Bacon Building Restoration that she and local historians renovated and donated to Kaufman County Historical Society.
She was proud of her support of the Meals on Wheels, where she would not only provide meals, but gifts for the seniors every Christmas. Helping Angels of Kaufman County is a non-profit organization, where she is a founding member. Through that organization she has assisted in the distribution of numerous financial donations to needy families of Kaufman County.
Nita Ann embodied, “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God”. Hebrews 13:16 Visitation is on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman, Texas. Funeral will be on Thursday morning at 10 am at First Assembly of God in Kaufman, Texas with Bobby Pritchett officiating.
