Norma “Dean” Tatum July 10, 1933 – October 18, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Norma “Dean” Tatum was born in Lewisville, Arkansas on July 10, 1933 to Buford and Mildred (Nichols) Chastain. Dean passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 85. Dean married Kenneth Tatum in November 1950 and their union was blessed with daughter, Rolonda.

Dean was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She adored her family and loved spending time with them. Dean was a great cook and loved creating delicious meals for her friends and family.

Dean worked as a Nurse Aide for many years because she loved helping people. She also enjoyed crocheting and reading. Dean was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Joy Singer.

She liked traveling with the senior adults of her church. In her younger years, Dean also bowled in several leagues and played basketball when she was in high school. Dean is survived by: Daughter, Rolonda Watkins and son-in-law, Steve of Broken Arrow, OK; Grandson, Christopher Watkins of Tulsa, OK; Sister, Carolyn Smith and brother-in-law, Cecil of Conway, AR; as well as many other nieces, nephews and family members.

Dean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; and three brothers, Charles Chastain, William (Bill) Chastain and Jimmy Chastain. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville, AR under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR.
