Funeral services for Norman Derrick Want, 60, of Lufkin, will be held Friday, January 4, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Harborlight Church in Lufkin with Rev. D.R. McNaughton officiating. Interment will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mr. Want was born October 6, 1958 in Houston, Texas, the son of Norman Joe Want and Mary Lee (Waits) Guynes, and died Thursday, December 27, 2018 in Lufkin. Mr. Want was a member of Harborlight church in Lufkin and the Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He also served as the Director of the Crimson Christian Academy.

Mr. Want loved to go fishing with his grandson and working in his garden. Most of all, He loved spreading the Gospel to people. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Want of Lufkin; daughter, Leia Paulsey Lopez of Tyler; grandson, Christian Gauge Lopez of Lufkin; granddaughters, Alaina Lopez, Anessa Lopez, and Marisa Lopez of Mineola, TX; mother, Mary Lee Horn-Guynes of Lufkin; father and step-mother, Norman Joe and Dana Want of Warren, TX; brother, Steve McQueen of Corrigan; brother, Mike Terry of Sevastopol, TX; brother, Aaron Terry of Groveton; sister, Norma Jean Want of Atascocita, TX; brother and sister-in-law, David and Laura Want of Conroe; brother and sister-in-law, Darrel and Amber Want of Huntsville; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Shelly Want of Huffman; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Want was preceded in death by his first wife, Karen Ty. Want. Pallbearers will be Norman Want Sr., Paul Want, David Want, Todd Want, Steve McQueen, and Jess Slider.

Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary McQueen, Jordan McQueen, and Aaron Terry. Special memorials may be made to the Crimson Christian Academy, 7020 S. US Hwy 59, Lufkin, Texas 75941. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2018 at Harborlight Church in Lufkin.
