Norman Jay Eicker, 91 of Kopperl, Texas, left on Angel’s wings June 8, 2018 in Cleburne, , Texas at Colonial Manor surrounded by Family. Norman was born May 1, 1927 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Gordon Walter Bruce Eicker and Mary Oklahoma Miller Eicker. Norman graduated from Labette County Community High School in Altomont KS, a one room school house.

After graduation he joined the United States Navy, during World War II after which he married Alice Carrie Booth June 12, 1949 in Liberal, Kansas. He is survived by his sister Barbara Pope of Whitney, Texas, daughter Gretchen Kay Eicker of Grandview, Texas, son Dale and wife Patricia Eicker of La Porte, Texas, son Arnold and wife Nancy Eicker of Clinton, Oklahoma, son Bruce and wife Amy Eicker of Cleburne, Texas, son Jerry and wife Kim Eicker of Bridge City, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews, 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and many extended family and church family members. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 65 years, daughter Jackie Lea Eicker, grandson Norman Edward “Bo” Eicker, great grandson Chad Thomas Smith.

Norman retired from LTV, was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Meridian, Texas, a member of the Moose Lodge, was a World War II veteran, an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. Memorial Service will be held on June 30, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Lighthouse Baptist Church located at 201 N. Main in Meridian, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Alice’s Angels C/O Lighthouse Baptist Church, P.O. Box 493, Meridian, Texas 76665.

Alice’s Angels is a food outreach program that provides meals for children in need during the summer months.
