Ms. Oleta Hale age 86 of Smithville passed away Monday afternoon September 24, 2018 at her daughter’s residence. She was born to her parents, the late Houston Gray and Ella Mae Ashford Hobbs. She was a member of the Mt.

Moriah Baptist Church, worked in a bakery, shirt factory and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bud Hale; Brothers: Arnold Hobbs, Harrison Hobbs, Bill Hobbs, Sammy Hobbs; Sister: Juanita Ferrell; Son-in-law: Larry “Horse” Ferrell. Funeral Service will be held 11:AM Thursday September 27, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros.

Leonard Herman and Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday 12:PM until 8:PM and Thursday 9:AM until the time of service at 11:AM. Survivors include Daughter: Starr Ferrell of Smithville; Grandchildren: Jarrod Dodd of Liberty, Sherranna (Bobby) Walker of Winchester; Great-Grandchildren: Hunter, Ava & Sophia Walker; Nieces: Brenda Gregory, Frances (John) Clark, Debbie (Jack) Tauber, Anita Ferrell, Robin Ferrell, Judy Pack, Sandra (Mike) Tisdale, Murriana Herman; Nephews: Doyle Hobbs, Wilburn (Janice) Hobbs, Steven Hobbs; Brother: John Hobbs of Liberty.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
