Opal E. Greenwell of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Protestant Home. She was born in Metropolis, IL on February 15, 1939 to the late John and Ada Mohr. Opal worked at General Tire for 19 years.

After retiring from General Tire, she went on to work at the Baby Shop, after school programs at St. Benedict School and Holy Rosary School. She enjoyed the many children she cared for. Opal is survived by her husband of 72 years, John Greenwell; Brother and Sister In-Laws, Jerry and Bonnie Greenwell, Doris Greenwell, niece and caregiver, Debbie Hebbeler, cousin, Jerry Mohr and several nieces and nephews.

Her son, Gary Lee, who she loved dearly and brought her much happiness passed away April 30, 2018. Visitation will be 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Thursday, March 7, 2019 at St. Joseph Mausoleum, 2500 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, IN. Funeral and prayer service will follow at 11:00 am at the Mausoleum with Father Alex Zenthoefer officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gary L. Greenwell Endowment, in support of the Holy Spirit Church campus.
