Ora Marthine Flowers May 24, 1948 – February 28, 2019 Ora “Marthine” Flowers, 70, of Albany, passed away at her home with family at her side and into her Lord’s waiting arms. The daughter of Lushis and Betty (Gains) Owens, she was born in Roseburg, Oregon. Marthine is a devoted Christian, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and faithful friend.

She loved working in her yard, cooking for the family, and traveling, so it made being a truck driver one of the best jobs she ever had. Marthine is a Choctaw indian, with an amazing amount of family (chukka achvffa) in Oklahoma. In 2007 after retiring, she moved there to get to know her relatives (i kanomi) and learn the Choctaw way.

Marthine loved her Oklahoma family (chukka achvffa) with the deepest passion that a person could and enjoyed her 10 years of living there. Thank you lord (Chihowa), for putting her in our lives and giving us the opportunity to love and be loved by her and to have learned so much from her guidance and patience. Please, fulfill your promise and embrace her into your arms and give her peace forever.

Marthine is survived by her children, Marlene Flowers, Merlene and Randy Miller, Ursus and Brenda Paguaga; brother, John; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a niece; nephews; and a great niece and great nephews. She was preceded by her parents; daughters, Naomi and Jean; brothers Aaron, Alfonzo and Luther. At her request no services will be held.

Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Returning to is stillness, which is the way of nature. Each separate being in the universe returns to the common for serenity.
