Orpha Maseko of Irving, Texas July 7, 1957 – May 2, 2019 Orpha Maseko (nee Gumbo) was born on July 7th, 1957 in Tsholotsho, Zimbabwe. She passed away on May 2, 2019 at Baylor Hospital – Irving surrounded by her loving family. She grew up in Nemane, Tsholotsho where she attended Nemane Primary School.

She went on to attend Solusi for her secondary education. On March 28, 1982, she married the love of her life, Lordwell Maseko in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. She is survived by her husband, Lordwell, sons Ndumiso and Gift, her daughters-in-law Precious and Nerlyne, grandchildren Andile, Ayanda and Sinegugu, her sister Musa, two brothers Geshom and Kogen, and a lot of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norah and Manzini Gumbo and three other siblings; Noah, Georgina and Abraham. She worked at the passport office prior to moving to the USA in 2000 and the family followed later that year. While in the USA, she attended Lake Michigan College and Siena Heights University for her undergraduate degree in Business Administration.

She then attained a Masters in Divinity at Andrews University in 2006. Her last position was substitute teaching for the Irving ISD. Orpha led a life of service to her family, church and community.

She made herself available whenever need arose. Her love for the Lord shined in all her endeavors. She was a member of the Irving Seventh day Adventist Church where she held positions as the Sabbath School Coordinator, Church Treasurer, and Adventurers Club Leader.

She will be remembered as a faithful loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10 at Dallas Brazilian SDA Church, 1400 W. Grauwyler Road, Irving, Texas. Pastor Roger Wazoua will officiate.

Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 South Belt Line Road 75052.
